The City of Bessemer invites you to tour our Downtown Bessemer National Historic District. The buildings you will see date back to the boom of the steel industry in central Alabama and represent a period of fast development in this Marvel City.

6. Zeigler Meat Company
1909 5th Avenue North, Bessemer, AL 35020
Constructed in 192o this building served as the first home of Zeigler Meats. The meats were sold via hand cart through the streets of Bessemer.
